Roberson Pool Project

Built along the historic beach cottage row in Nags Head, NC, this pool was designed on a second story level so the deck could flow naturally into the water while allowing the homeowners to take full advantage of the beautiful ocean views.

To meet FEMA elevation requirements and coastal building standards, the entire structure is supported by concrete piers, 20-foot embedded timber piles, and grade beams, safely lifting the pool and while maintaining a seamless connection to the decking.

An elevated perimeter-overflow spa finished in Lunada Bay glass tile serves as a beautiful, ocean-inspired focal point. As glass tile requires carefully controlled temperatures during installation, extra care was taken to ensure proper application of the tiles by using climate controlled tents with Litokol setting and grouting materials.

To help transition seamlessly from the deck to the water, we used Marmiro Afyon Cloud sandblasted marble coping and step treads paired with Marmiro stone accents and a Wet Edge Signature Mix Aqua interior applied by Pearl Pool Plastering.

Behind the scenes, Hayward pumps, filters, heaters, and automation keep everything running smoothly, supported by Waterco PreFilters and Paramount Clear O3 and UV sanitation.

The result of our work is a clean, elevated coastal pool and spa combo designed to make the most of its ocean views while standing up to the demands of life on the Outer Banks coast!
